These
days there are many Practice Management Systems on the market, all
doing roughly the same job.
For 30 years Verifac's
software has been demonstrably ahead of the market. To remain that
way we needed to design something radically new, different and
evolutionary.
Look
and Feel
We
decided to redesign from the ground up. Looking at all existing
systems (including our own, Mentor) we realised that the screens
look cluttered and hard to take in at a glance. We felt that the
Apple iMac had a much better look and overall presentation of data
so we designed a system that was clean, clear and easy to
understand.
Convenience
We made the new system
work in a similar way to the best Web sites, bringing relevant
information to the user when and where needed, but only when and
where needed.
Reports
and Analysis
We used Microsoft SQL
Server to store the Practice information and provided
industry-standard enquiry software so that the Practice can get
virtually any report that they can think of and change the format or
parameters of these reports at will.
HealthCare
Knowing how important
Healthcare Schemes are to the profitability of a modern Veterinary
Practice we have incorporated a unique system of tracking and
displaying every animal's significant health events, past, present
and future. We call this the Full Life Profile and present it in a
'timeline' format that is both indispensable for the vet - to
appreciate his patient's history at a glance - and interesting for
the owner who can appreciate the clear and easily understandable
diagrammatic presentation. The owner is also presented with and can
keep track of all recommended future treatments and so can plan
accordingly.
Client
Bonding
Linked to this, and an
essential part of client bonding, are a comprehensive series of
client-oriented handouts provided by the LifeLearn organisation.
These are stored in Microsoft Word format and are automatically
linked to the animal's condition and recommended treatments. At the
end of every consultation your clients can go home with both a
consultation summary and a set of excellent, illustrated and
informative notes on your Practices recommendations for both the
animal's condition and generally for its breed.
Nurses
Station
Working alongside
Evolution is our latest innovation, QuickSilver. This is a separate
and optional system that runs on a laptop or tablet P.C. It is
operated by a nurse or other member of staff who has been on our
QuickSilver training course. The nurse is able to sit with a client
whilst they are in the waiting room and, using the QuickSilver
software, run through a sequential set of questions about the
patient's general well-being. For each question the client is
prompted to select one of a number of pre-determined responses
which, at the end of the session, are collated and stored in that
animal's clinical history. The Practitioner may then review all of
this information prior to seeing the patient. In addition to saving
veterinary professional time this process may well uncover areas
that both the vet and the client should also be examining. Thus it
saves time, increases business and leads to a more satisfied and
bonded client.
Ongoing
Training
Training is one of the
most essential parts of buying a new computer system, yet is
undoubtedly one of the most neglected. When you upgrade to Evolution
you will have the most powerful and 'able' veterinary software on
the market today. Although it is simple to get going with the basic
functions of Evolution, it would be a tragic waste of opportunity to
fail to use this software to its fullest extent. Verifac place great
emphasis on providing ongoing training so that you can start off
with the basic knowledge on how to manage the day-to-day business
and then slowly expand to use all of the powerful and advanced
features available with your Evolution system. |
